The Slater Designs Boss Up surfboard is Kelly Slater’s first high-performance midlength, designed together with Dan Mann and Kevin Schulz. Considered the most versatile board in the Slater Designs range, it combines maneuverability, speed and control to perform from small waves to powerful barrels.
This model is the big brother of the S Boss, with a longer outline and increased dimensions that provide more drive and versatility in all kinds of conditions. It’s the ideal board if you’re looking for a one-board quiver, perfect for traveling and tackling any wave with maximum performance.
It is recommended to surf it with +13 liters of volume compared to your usual shortboard, set up with the KS1 5-fin quiver in quad to unlock its full potential.
✔ Wave type: extremely versatile, it works from small, soft waves to powerful point breaks like Pavones or Rincon, and even on big days at Sunset.
✔ Key features: longer rail line, more float, ease of linking turns, and the ability to adapt to different wave sizes without needing an exact volume adjustment.
The Firewire Boss Up is your go-to board for all kinds of waves, designed for those seeking versatility and high performance in a single design.
Epoxy Ibolic Construction:
Firewire’s Ibolic construction brings together the best of Helium and LFT constructions. The EPS foam core includes an 18 mm thick high-density foam stringer, and the rails use this same high-density foam, but 16 mm thick. The result is a surfboard with the stiffness and durability of LFT construction, but with the flex and responsiveness of Helium construction.
