The Slater Designs FRK Swallow surfboard, designed by Dan Mann in collaboration with Kelly Slater, is the latest addition to the FRK family. It has been developed to deliver maximum performance in waves of up to 5 feet, combining speed, maneuverability and remarkable versatility in small to medium conditions.
Compared to previous models in the FRK range, the FRK Swallow features a swallow tail, a new volume distribution under the surfer’s stance and a completely redesigned rocker. These improvements make it easy to generate speed on flat sections without losing grip or precision when turning on the rail.
The result is a highly responsive shortboard that particularly stands out for its smooth rail-to-rail transitions in drawn-out turns, fin-release maneuvers and excellent control in all types of conditions.
It is recommended to surf it 2 inches shorter than the FRK and 1 inch shorter than the FRK+, pairing it with Endorfins KS1 fins to get the most out of it.
Wave type
The FRK Swallow has been designed to perform at its best in waves of up to 5 feet, where it excels at generating speed through flat sections while maintaining excellent control on the rail.
Although it was conceived for smaller surf, the Slater Designs team quickly realized its great versatility, working perfectly from knee-high waves to waves well overhead.

I-Bolic 2.0 Technology
I-Bolic 2.0 is the evolution of Slater Designs’ renowned I-Bolic construction. Its core incorporates a central beam (I-Beam) that controls flex through high-density foam along the rails, providing an outstanding combination of lightness, strength and responsiveness.
It also features a fully integrated carbon reinforcement on the bottom of the board, increasing structural strength without compromising feel or flexibility.
